Aaron Logan Band- at The Mix!!
Wednesday Night, May 19
7.00-8.30p
It has been stinkin cool to have the Aaron Logan Band with joining us on Wednesday nights this past spring!!! The times they have been here have be AWESOME!!! And we are so excited to have them back this week…
They have released an awesome CD, Freedom Calls. The CD is chalked full of great hits, original hits that Aaron has rocked here at GFC! One of my favorites is the song Thankful:
You are the one who saved my soul
You are the one who makes me whole
And I have found my purpose now
You are the one who gives me hope
You are the one who fills the hole
Though I can’t see what You see in me
I am thankful
I am thankful
I truly am thankful for how God has challenged me and set me free… for the fact that he has made me WHOLE and has now given me a PURPOSE!! God is awesome- and it is truly evident how much Aaron and the band love God through the course of the CD!!! It is available through iTunes if you want to check it out RIGHT NOW… do it!!!
Interview with Aaron Logan…
I got the opportunity to ask Aaron some deep dark questions… you know, like questions of the heart and soul… questions about his childhood… questions about his olympic dreams… Check out what Aaron had to say!!!
Aaron, Tell us something crazy about yourself!!!!
I have never been to Boston in the Fall.
Too bad, Boston is cool… So tell us, where have you lived?
Bridgeport, Denton, Fort Worth, and now Denton again.
Tell us about your adventure with Jesus…
When did it begin?? What is HE teaching you now??
Oh man. It began when I was really young. My mom led me to the Lord when I was little, and it’s been a journey of getting to know Him more ever since.
In the last couple years I’ve really been getting to know God deeper and deeper as Father, and it’s been so awesome. A father loves, a father protects, a father provides, a father corrects, a father guides, and a father helps his son discover his manhood. Or you could say, his sense of self. And that’s the journey that I’ve been on with God recently. Discovering deeper levels of who I am. He’s been pushing some buttons on things He wants to mold and change, and even things He wants to root out of me altogether. It hurts sometimes, but it’s a good hurt.
That is awesome… Apparently you have some brothers and sisters??
Yeah, I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers (7 of us total). I’m the 2nd oldest, with one older sister. It was fun growing up in such a big family, and especially now that we’re all older. We like to laugh and have fun when we’re all together.
Obviously, you play music… what is the most difficult part of being a musician??
Deciding my favorite instrument to play.
What is your favorite part…
Getting to create music.
I love to see a project go from just an idea in the brain to a full song with all the arrangements.
What goes through your mind when you listen to your cd?
Well, a few things. Sometimes I analyze all the things we could have done better in the studio. Haha. Sometimes I think about the best way we can play the songs live (if there are more creative ways to do the intros, choruses, etc.)
And a lot of times I think about how God might use it to reach people and impact their lives.
What was the last flavor of ice cream you ate?
Peanut butter chocolate!
What was the first song you learned to play on the guitar?
I’m not entirely sure. My dad taught me some stuff when I was 6 or 7, but I didn’t stick with it then, so I can’t really remember what I learned. Later on I remember learning some Darrell Evans songs. I know one of them was Let The River Flow.
What was the last song you listened to on iPod?
I haven’t listened to an iPod in a long time. Not sure. Haha
If you were in the olympics… What sport would you play???
I’d probably throw the javelin. Cause that’s just awesome.
Aaron, thanks man… we are excited about having you guys at the MIX!!!
