We caught up with Blake, from the band Distal, so that you would get to know the guys a little better!!!

GFC: So, we are totally excited about having you guys here Paradise, TX, with us!! It is gonna be an AWESOME night!!!
Having said that, you guys go by the name DISTAL, tell me, where did the name come from?
Distal: Well, I found the word Distal in my anatomy book during high school. It is a medical term that means “far from”.
As a band, we believe that we have a purpose that is not of this world, that is far from the world we currently live in. Hence, the name Distal.
GFC: That is way cool- now where is home for you guys?
Distal: We are from Edmond, Oklahoma!
GFC: How did you guys come together??
Distal: Jordan, Justin, and I (Blake) grew up together in the same church as young kids. We used to play in the praise band at our church as well… As we grew older, we got hooked into Rock ‘n Roll!!
As the three of us formed the band Distal, we needed a drummer, and we went through several different drummers, but never finding the perfect fit. After several drummers, I gave Tommy Goddard a call, and he has been the perfect fit for us.
GFC: Tell us something crazy about you guys??
Distal: Well, we used to listen to Backstreet Boys to get pumped for our shows! HA!!
GFC: Backstreet Boys- that is definitely crazy! I’m sure, in the time you guys spend together, you have developed many great memories… what would you say is your favorite part of being in a band??
Distal: We just really love giving back to the world the talents that God has given to us. Plus, we love being LOUD!!
GFC: Loud is good, and I’m sure we can expect it to be loud and crazy Friday night. What would you say was the coolest venue you guys have ever played in??
Distal: Definitely, the Mabee Center in Tulsa, OK. We shared the stage with Skillet.
GFC: WOW- Skillet has proven themselves. But so have you guys. In fact one of your songs has been as high as #22 on Billboard’s top Christian Rock Songs… What goes through your mind when you listen to your own CD??
Distal: It just gets us thinking about the great times we’ve had in the studio! But, honestly, we never listen to our own CD!
GFC: Blake, thanks soo much for taking time to answer our questions, and allowing us to know who you guys really are… As we wrap up, let’s play a little Rapid Fire. I’ll give you a word and you tell us what the first thin that comes to your mind when you hear the word…
