“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5.16-18 (NLT)
Sure thanksgiving is a time for family and food… fun and relaxing!
It is a time for you to take a break from the normal patterns of life like school and homework and even cafeteria food!
But, most importantly, it is a time for you and me to look back at our life so far, pause, and give thanks for the many blessings that we have!
It is a time to reflect on the families we have- the friends we have- the joys of the past year but also the sorrows of the past year (as they are working to make you a stronger student and follower of Christ).
It is a time to think about the story of Jesus and how He walked this same earth 2000 years ago, living a perfect life, and then dying a criminals death… so that we can have life forever!
Thanksgiving is more than just a holiday- it is a day to remember how blessed we are, and a day to show our true gratitude!
So, simply put, what are you thankful for this Thanksgiving Season?
